Why I'll Welcome the April Showers This Month

posted on 6 April 2013

In the UK, typically we get many showers in the month of April. I won't mind because it'll give me a chance to try out my clear umbrella which I bought just a few days ago. I love it - it just looks so chic and makes me look more fashionable than I deserve! It has a lovely heart-shaped pattern all over the umbrella - a very cute and fun design it is. I like to take my umbrella when I go shopping - typical umbrellas you get in the UK are large and unwieldly - you can easily poke someone's eye out with the types of umbrellas here. So I like my new umbrella because it's not too big in that respect and it means I don't have to be too careful when I've opened it. I've noticed over the last few years more and more funky umbrellas being used in the UK - perhaps I'm just joining that trend. More fashion trends to monitor: Avanni Fashion

My Own Little Handbag Fetish Confessed

posted on 27 July 2012

I absolutely adore handbags - be they small red handbags, shoulder bags, or even satchels. If you asked me to name a favourite though, I am particularly fond of Burberry handbags. I think they are stunning and can make any woman look a million dollars. Burberry handbags stand out because of their distinguished pattern. The tartan looks great with any outfit. I have ten Burberry handbags. I normally purchase one each season. I really enjoy ordering them online as I save a considerable amount of money. I bought my first one from a high end retailer which nearly cost two thousand dollars back in 2008. I felt a little guilty about spending the money but it was worth it. My boyfriend was even impressed. He thought it cost ten thousand dollars and thought I was crazy spending that much. Men have no idea about fashion. I am considering buying a Jimmy Choo hangbag as he has recently launched a new selection. I have even saved the necessary money. I love handbags more than anyone in this world.

Danskos Look Great and Help My Foot Pain

posted on 24 July 2012

Over the past year, my favorite shoes have become anything made by Dansko. After I had my second child, I developed some foot problems, including tendonitis and fallen arches. I went to a few doctors, with poor results. The last doctor wanted to put me in a knee-to-toes cast for six weeks. With two kids under four, I rejected this notion. I started wearing Danskos almost all the time to help my foot pain. I have several pairs, including the traditional closed-heel clogs, summertime clogs (called “Pippa”) and two pairs of “trainers.” My foot pain has dramatically decreased. Anytime I have to wear other shoes like my work shoes, it feels like I have my feet wrapped in newspaper. Other shoes just are not supportive, and I have realized how very poorly many other shoes are made. Not only are Danskos great for my feet, they are remarkably durable. I wore the closed-toe clogs through the winter, subjecting them to rain, snow and salt. They took everything nature dished out. I am extremely pleased with all pairs of my Danskos.

What to Look For in Portable Baby Swings?

posted on 1 July 2011

Portable baby swings are helpful tools for both babies and mothers. Babies may be overelaborate at times, needing something soothing while mothers may need the baby to stay put for a few minutes. In looking for the perfect baby swing, there are a few features that need to be checked. First and the most important is the safety harness. It will keep the baby safe and still while the mother needs to put the baby down for a while. More, it must also be washable. We would not want it to be looking dirty especially when the baby uses it often. It must also have a feeding tray to hold the baby for a prolonged amount of time with removable snack trays. A toy bar is also important in a swing. It may come with dangling toys or other fun contraptions to keep the baby entertained. The baby swing is preferred to have the capacity to be reclined so that it can be adjusted to a position that the baby will be most comfortable with.

Oliver Peoples Sunglasses

posted on 14 December 2010

It’s actually cool to wear eyeglasses, not for clearer vision but as fashion statement. The association of looking nerd and boring when one wears Oliver Peoples sunglasses, although it always exists, has evolved into a fashion trend. But the primary purpose of eyeglasses has always been to aid the vision of users. Near-sighted lenses are more expensive than lenses made for Far-sighted individuals. While lenses for far-sighted individual is readily available in the store like 50+ grade lenses, the near-sighted individual has no choice but to wait for their lenses to be made to fit their eye vision grade of -50 or lesser. Olivers Peoples sunglasses are more expensive than eyeglasses readily available in the counter. Popular designer eyeglasses are Berkshire Chase, Burberry, Christian Dior, D&G, Armani, Guess, Oakley, Prada, Tommy Hilfiger, Ray Ban, Vogue and many more. Prices for these designer glasses range from $ 150-350 when you go to buy these Oliver Peoples sunglasses.

The Friend I Envy for Her Fashion Sense

posted on 8 December 2010

We all have that one friend that we know and envy for their fashion sense. The one that says she just threw something on to wear yet she appears beautiful to the outside world. Yea, I know I have one. I called her to see if she wanted to go on a last minute lunch with me and a few of our friends. She met us there, she walks up to the table with the cutest outfit on. Tight jeans, white sweater along with 2 pashminas intertwined around her neck as a scarf. She wore gold earrings and gold bangles to go with it. For a last minute outfit for lunch, she was gorgeous. I asked her if she was already dressed and waiting to be invited somewhere. I was joking of course and luckily she recognized the humor. From there we had a great lunch together and enjoyed each other’s company.

When Same Day Delivery Isn't Actually The Day You Think

posted on 7 December 2010

I have heard many tacky clichés and really do not pay attention to most of them, however some do tend to stick and make sense. One that immediately comes to mind is if it sounds to good to be true, it most likely is. Or, the apple does not fall far from the tree. That one was always difficult to understand, but once I became an adult I figured it out. Or one that my boss at the office uses a lot is they say they are same day couriers, but same day must have a different meaning to some people. This came about after he hired a same day courier to deliver some Shirley of Hollywood lingerie to a fashion shoot and they did not arrive until the following day - no good since the shoot was to happen only on one day. What he did not understand was that same day delivery means within 24 hours. Not a regular 8 hour business day. Once I explained it, he was alright. He realized he needs to read the fine print that is for sure.

How I Do My Shopping in the High Street

posted on 28 October 2010

There are a few things that men need to realize are very important when a woman is shopping never rush her and never tell her to just pick something. I know for me when I am shopping for shoes or evening bags or even bridal lingerie, I turn into a different person when I begin seeing all the different options on line. I love shopping on line far more than in stores going door to door. I seem to spend a lot more time and way too much money when I am shopping in person rather than when I am just surfing on line. When I log onto the computer I basically know what it is I am looking for so it makes it a bit easier to find it. Just for me, I cannot speak for everyone, but I am able to go on line and find what I want quickly and easily if I am not being rushed through it. When I get rushed I get flustered and it is no longer fun for me.
